Software for geocoding and reverse geocoding

One challenge in integrating logistics systems is that they sometimes use different address formats.

Even just in the US, people might use a single line of text like 20 Exchange Pl, New York, NY 10005, a pair of coordinates, or a structured object with many attributes.

We’ve helped clients integrate between different logistics services, say Uber Direct or Fedex, by geocoding an address into a universal format and then marshaling it into the provider’s format. Both Esri and Google Maps offer geocoding tooling that we like to use to this end.
